Founded in 1974, we have customers around the world that rely on our knowledge and skill to help them trade in the international marketplace. We are currently seeking a collaborative, results oriented professional to join our Accounting team in the Portland office as a part-time AP/AR Clerk. At TLR we believe in doing anything to become the most loved and trusted provider of international services and finding team members that will help foster that vision is paramount to our success.

 

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Pays invoices by verifying transaction information; obtaining authorization of payment; scheduling and preparing disbursements; preparing and mailing payments.
  • Obtains revenue by verifying transaction information; computing charges and refunds; identifying delinquent accounts and insufficient payments.
  • Collects revenue by reminding delinquent accounts; notifying customers of insufficient payments.
  • Maintains accounting ledgers by posting account transactions.
  • Verifies accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
  • Resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation; issuing stop payments, payments, or adjustments.
  • Evaluate efficiency opportunities across the organization as needed. 

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Reconciliations and journal entries, variance analysis, and reporting
  • GAAP knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel & Access)
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Exceptional time management and accuracy to meet deadlines
  • Must have excellent work habits; be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or another related field preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; internal and external clients
  • Ability to work under stress and problem solve
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and work unsupervised to get results
